Mixed Mani Monday: A Festive Holiday Edition

Hey there, nail wrap enthusiasts!

Here we are with a Mixed Mani Monday post, landing on a Wednesday this time – thanks to the seasonal hustle and the delightful chaos of Christmas, which made me skip a beat (or a post). But better late than never, right?

This week’s festive nails were a collaborative effort with my imaginative 11-year-old, who’s quickly becoming my personal nail stylist. She fell head over heels for the charming reindeer and jolly snowman designs from the "Halls are Decked" nail wraps. Her vision? To pair these merry characters with a dash of sparkle. And so, she meticulously picked out "Crystal Crush" – a stunning white glitter that’s reminiscent of freshly fallen snow, and "Cherry Freeze" – a captivating white to red glitter ombre that’s all the warmth and joy of Christmas in a manicure.

With my hands full, quite literally, with holiday baking and preparations, I needed my mani to withstand the rigors of a kitchen marathon. So, I opted for Orly Rubberized Bonder as my base coat for that extra stick. It's like the command strips of nail adhesives – absolute necessity for the season’s toil.

As for the top coat, I reached for the Essie Gel Couture top coat, a trusty sidekick when you're out of your go-to. Yes, my beloved Sally Hansen Miracle Gel top coat was MIA this time, but Essie held the fort quite gallantly, providing that glassy finish we all love.

While the skies didn’t grace us with a snowy Christmas, the laughter and warmth of family gathered around made up for the missing flurries. Every time I caught a glimpse of my hands – adorned with the mix my daughter chose with such excitement – it reminded me that the real magic of the holidays isn’t in the perfect setting, it's in the perfect moments.
