How to Apply Your Nail Wraps
Start by prepping your nails. Clean the cuticle area to ensure the wrap adheres to your nail and not your skin. Wash your hands with dish soap to remove any dust or oils, or use an alcohol swab, then let them dry completely.
Next, choose the right size wrap for each nail. If you're between sizes, opt for the smaller one to prevent it from touching your skin. Peel off the protective film and place the wrap on your nail, smoothing it down with your finger or a rubber cuticle pusher. If you're applying our semi-cured gels, this is the time to cure them for 60–120 seconds.
Trim any excess with small scissors or gently file the free edge in a downward motion. This helps seal the wrap to your nail tip, while filing side to side may cause lifting.
And that’s it—enjoy a flawless, long-lasting manicure with ease!
Advanced Application Guide
Step 1: Clean Your Nails
Start by washing your hands with dish soap to remove natural oils, dust, and lotions from your nails. Properly cleaned nails ensure the wraps adhere correctly. Alternatively, you can use an alcohol prep pad to wipe down your nails, removing any debris and excess moisture. Make sure your nails are completely dry before moving on.
Tip: If it's cold where you are, warming up your wraps can make them more flexible and easier to apply. Place the package of wraps on a warm heating pad for a few minutes, apply them in a warm space, or use a space heater nearby. As Canadians, we sometimes need these extra steps during colder months to make application smoother.
Step 2: Choose the Right Size Wrap
Select the best-fitting wrap for each nail. If you're between sizes, choose the smaller one—wraps should not touch your skin or cuticles, as they won’t adhere properly.
For shorter nails, you can cut the wrap in half and use it on two nails, doubling the number of manicures from each set!
Step 3: Remove the Protective Film & Apply the Wrap
Each nail wrap is protected on both sides to keep it clean and sticky. First, remove the clear film on top of the wrap. Then, peel the wrap off the white base and place it on your nail. Position the rounded edge as close to the cuticle as possible without touching it. A slight gap between the wrap and cuticle prevents lifting and leaves space for a top coat if desired.
Step 4: Smooth the Wrap to Your Nail
Press down in the center first, then smooth outward to the sides. A rubber cuticle pusher works well to eliminate air bubbles. If the wrap isn’t positioned correctly, gently lift and reposition it. You can also stretch it slightly for a custom fit.
Step 5: Remove Excess Wrap
Trim any extra wrap at the free edge using small scissors, cutting close to your natural nail to minimize the amount that needs filing. Then, file off the remainder using a downward motion—this helps seal the wrap to your nail. Avoid filing side to side, as this can cause lifting.
For best results, avoid submerging your hands in hot water for a few hours after application. This allows the wrap to fully bond to your nail. Applying wraps before bed is a great way to ensure they set properly overnight.
Applying Semi-Cured Gel Wraps
If you're using semi-cured gel wraps, follow the same steps above for preparation, sizing, and application. Once the wrap is smoothed onto your nail, cure it under a UV/LED lamp for 60–120 seconds to harden the gel and create a durable, glossy finish.
After curing, file off any excess gel wrap as needed, following the same downward filing technique. Semi-cured gel wraps offer a stronger, longer-lasting manicure with a professional gel-like look—without the need for a salon visit!
Now you're all set for a flawless, long-lasting manicure! 💅✨
