Description
Hanny and Chuck nail wraps enable you to achieve a salon quality manicure in the comfort of your own home. These nail wraps are easier and faster to use than nail polish and they last up to 10 days! We have a huge collection of different colours and designs you can choose from to ensure you have the perfect nails to complement any occasion.
Easy Application
To start, you'll need to prepare your nails. First, clean the cuticle area to make sure the wrap sticks to your nail and not your cuticle. Wash your hands with dish soap to remove any dust and oils, allow them to completely dry. Next, pick the right size wrap for each nail. If you're between sizes, go for the smaller one to keep the wrap from touching your skin. Then, peel off the protective film from the wrap and place it on your nail. Smooth it down with your finger or a rubber cuticle pusher. Trim any excess wrap with small scissors or file down the free edge in a downward motion. Filing downwards helps the wrap seal to the tip of your nail; filing side to side might make the wrap lift. And that's it, you're all set!
Advanced Application
Clean your Nails:
Start by washing your hands with dish soap to get rid of natural oils, dust, and lotions from your nails. The wraps won't stick properly if your nails aren't clean. Alternatively, you can use an alcohol prep pad to wipe down your nails, removing any debris and excess moisture. Make sure your nails are completely dry before moving on.
Tip: If it's cold where you are, consider warming up your wraps to make them more flexible and easier to apply. You can do this by placing the package of wraps on a warm heating pad for a few minutes. Alternatively, try applying your wraps in a warm spot or use a space heater nearby. As Canadians, we sometimes need these extra steps during colder weather to make the application smoother.
Choose the correct size wrap:
Choose the size wrap for each nail, if you have a nail that is in between wrap sizes, choose the smaller size - you don’t want the wrap to touch any skin or cuticle as it isn’t designed to stick to anything but a clean dry nail. If you have shorter nails, you can cut the wrap in half and use it on two nails to double the number of manicures you can get from each set!
Remove the protective top cover and place the nail wrap on your nail:
Each nail wrap is protected on both sides to ensure it remains clean and sticky. Start by removing the clear film on top of the wrap. Once you have removed the clear protective layer you can peel the wrap off the white base and place it on your nail. Follow the shape of the wrap so that the rounded edge is placed as close as possible to (but not touching) the cuticle. We like to leave a small gap between the cuticle and the wrap to ensure they are not touching, it also allows space for a top coat (should you choose to use one).
Smooth the wrap to the nail:
You can smooth the wrap to your nail by pressing down in the middle then smoothing over to the sides, a rubber cuticle pusher makes a great tool for ensuring no air bubbles get trapped under the wrap. If you place the wrap incorrectly the first time and you wish to try again, just gently lift the wrap up and re-position it. You can also gently stretch the wrap to the sides to help create a custom fit.
Remove the excess wrap:
To remove the excess wrap off the free edge, you should first clip it with scissors - clip close to the tip of your natural nail so that there is less wrap to file away. Once the majority of the wrap has been clipped away, file the remainder of the wrap off in a downward stroke direction to ensure the wrap isn’t pulled away from the nail. Once the excess has been filed off, the wrap should look just like a perfectly polished manicure. At this point we recommend not submerging your hands in hot water for a few hours to allow the wrap to “cure” to your nail, for this reason we like to apply our wraps before going to bed.
